Bruschetta Toasts

The vital foundation for your bruschetta – does what it says on the tin! Top these with a bit of what you fancy.  I also did a cheesy version.  I’m sure they would be just as yummy with big slices of crusty bread.

Bruschetta Toasts

  • Plain Toasts
  • 3/4 of a baguette
  • A bowl of olive oil


  1. Preheat the oven so it's nice and hot - I used gas mark 8.
  2. Slice the baguette diagonally into even slices.  Arrange them on a banking tray, and brush with oil, or dip into the oil.
  3. Turn them oil side down and toast in the top of the oven for around 6 minutes until looking crunchy on top.
  4. Turn them over and cook until golden and crispy .  Remove from the oven to cool.
